Therefore, the research encompassed a deductive, qualitative, and quantitative approach, as graphs were used to analyze the effects of economic sanctions from an economic standpoint. Additionally, through a descriptive research using bibliographic references such as the 1945 UN Charter and resolutions of the body, the goal is to understand the foundations that led the international community to criminalize the invasion of Ukrainian territory and impose economic sanctions on Russia, taking into account the Russian arguments for the incursion of their troops into the neighboring country's territory. Therefore, based on the analysis of these elements, it was concluded that the Russian narratives, according to international law, are illegitimate and constitute a form of armed aggression, justifying the application of economic sanctions against the country.
