Auditoria aplicada à qualidade da informação: em foco o dimensionamento da força de trabalho em uma instituição federal de ensino superior. Orientadora: Dra. Andrea Vasconcelos Carvalho. 2024. 202f. Dissertação (Mestrado Profissional em Gestão da Informação e do Conhecimento) - Centro de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/60080Today's organizations need to check that the information used to support their organizational systems and decisions is of good quality, as well as whether the workforce they have is sufficient to meet their demands. In this sense, the federal government has a reference model for Workforce Sizing (WFS), the aim of which is to define the appropriate number of people for each work unit to carry out its tasks. Information on the work units is the main input for applying this model, and its quality is essential for the results to be close to reality and contribute to an assertive decision-making process for allocating people. Thus, the problem guiding this research is: How is the information used to fill in UFRN's DFT characterized from the point of view of information quality attributes? Thus, the general objective of this study is to audit the quality of the information used to fill in the DFT reference model at UFRN. To achieve this, the following specific objectives were outlined: a) To identify the attributes of information quality according to the relevant literature; b) To verify the correctness of the information in the DFT reports; c) To verify the perception of the information producers in relation to the attributes of information quality when completing the DFT; d) Identify the main difficulties experienced during the process of filling in the information in the DFT; and e) Propose recommendations to help overcome the main difficulties related to filling in the information, in order to improve the quality of the information used in the UFRN's DFT. This research is of an applied nature and is exploratory/descriptive with a mixed approach (quantitative/qualitative). In terms of research techniques, the intelligence audit method was used in addition to bibliographical and documentary research and the application of a questionnaire inspired by the Product and Service Performance Model for Information Quality. Basic statistics and content analysis were used to analyze the data. It was found that there were errors in filling in the deliveries in terms of volume and effort, as well as information gaps that could interfere with the model's results. Furthermore, none of the information quality attributes were rated highly, with accessibility and timeliness being the worst. These findings reveal weaknesses in the quality of the information and the need for improvement to support the proper completion of the DFT, favoring the generation of reliable results. As a contribution, an action plan was proposed with suggested activities to minimize these weaknesses. The conclusion is that the proposed objectives were achieved and the results obtained can be used to improve the quality of the information used in the UFRN's DFT, as well as helping other bodies to apply the methodology, contributing to improving the allocation of personnel in the public service.
