A bibliographic research was done on digital type design and letter drawing in order to acquire the academic understanding of the matter. The method developed in this work consisted in a adaptation of Munari and Henestrosa et. al., involving a visual research of vernacular letterings at the South Zone of Natal city, a selection of a letter face among those, and its adaptation to a free licensing digital font.
