In this work, a low-cost modular seismograph prototype was developed, with the purpose of recording seismic events and possibly contributing to seismic monitoring projects proposed by the Seismology Laboratory of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte – LabSis UFRN, in addition to encouraging the new research and disciplines focused on geophysical instrumentation. The seismograph proposed in this work has a geophone with a natural frequency of 10 Hz, a GPRS module for recording date, time (UTC) and geographic location of the equipment, an amplifier module and 24-bit analogue-digital converter and a development board STM32F407VET6. It was able to record low-intensity seismic events, such as walking at close range and falling objects with high precision. We developed a multichannel software for plotting, analysis and storage in real time, where it is possible to simultaneously analyze the seismogram and its respective frequency spectrum.
