Caicó, 2016.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/44293This article is the result of an investigation into some pedagogical possibilities of addressing the African and Afro-descendant culture in school, focusing on the oral tradition of storytelling nature broadcast by poetry. The study had as object poems Odete Semedo, Guinea Bissau and Conceição Evaristo, Brazil. The research was literature, as poems were used already published African and african-brazilian author, and therefore a qualitative approach, ie, the selected poems were used as a source of data, interpretation and attribution of meaning. The results showed that the narrative element and with it the role of oral tradition is very present in the poems that were analyzed, showing the living tradition in the poems of Odete Semedo and the continuation of this, current and transformative way, the poems of Conceição Evaristo.
