In Brazil, despite growth in the South and Southeast regions, states such as Rio Grande do Norte still show low adoption of these technologies. This work analyzes the home automation market in Rio Grande do Norte, focusing on wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, ZigBee, RF 433 MHz, and Thread/Matter, as well as wired alternatives like Ethernet and KNX. The methodology includes a literature review, a market survey with local companies, and an analysis of the state’s technological and economic infrastructure. The results indicate technical and economic feasibility for home automation, with affordable solutions and an attractive return on investment, especially in mid-range homes. Growth has been observed mainly in urban and touristic areas such as Natal, Mossoró, and Pipa. It is concluded that the sector has strong expansion potential in the state, provided it is supported by strategic actions such as specialized technical training, partnerships with the construction industry, and certifications for smart homes.pt-BRAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/automação residencialcasas inteligentesIoTmercado regionaldomótica.O mercado da automação residencial no Rio Grande do NorteThe home automation market in Rio Grande do NortebachelorThesisENGENHARIAS
