Patients may present complications during or after procedures, such as bleeding, haematoma, pseudoaneurysm, arterial thrombosis, or distal embolisation. The development of a tool to guide the assessment of patients who have undergone percutaneous procedures in the haemodynamics unit will enable early reassessment of patients who require additional treatment, with a view to minimising damage and improving the quality of care, thus justifying this research. Objective: To develop and validate an assessment tool to identify potential complications in patients after percutaneous procedures in the haemodynamics unit. Method: This is a methodological study to construct and validate an instrument for patients undergoing percutaneous procedures in the haemodynamics unit. The research was carried out from February 2023 to February 2024 and consisted of two stages: 1- Construction of the instrument, 2- Validation of content and appearance by eight judges specializing in the subject, using the Delphi technique. The Content Validity Index (CVI) was calculated for the validation process. Results: The validated instrument consists of 32 items that obtained CVI > 0.80, distributed in six dimensions: A: Identification data; B: General assessment and background; C: Procedure data; D: Analysis of risk factors for vascular complications; E: Vascular complications; F: Notification. Conclusion: The tool was validated in terms of its content and appearance, proving to be a representative tool for assessing patients undergoing percutaneous procedures in the haemodynamics unit. Completing the instrument will be useful for planning and developing actions aimed at patient safety.
