Manejo odontológico de pacientes com síndrome de Ehlers-Danlos tipo hipermobilidade: relato de caso. 2017. Monografia (Graduação) - Departamento de Odontologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2017.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/38999The Ehlers-Danlos syndrome hypermobile type (EDSHT) represents a hereditary connective tissue disorder with unknown etiology characterized by joint hypermobility, skin hyperextensibility, and generalized tissue fragility, associated with other pathognomonic systemic manifestations. This work intends to inform and to instruct dentists about the diagnosis and management of EDSHT´s patients in the dental clinic through a case report. The reported case is from a female patient, 20 years old, Diabetic, with postural orthostatic tachycardia, celiac disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, attended in a Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology service, complaining of intense pain, difficulty swallowing and impossibility to close the mouse. The physical examination revealed a jaw dislocation, and because the event was recurrent a lot, the patient underwent diagnostic investigation, in which it was found generalized joint hypermobility, ecchymosis, light skin hyperextensibility, skin Velvety, atrophic scars and the Steingberg sign. After reduced dislocation, Tylex® 30mg (01 tablet every 8 hours during 3 days) was prescribed. The patient was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome hypermobile type. The patient is being followed up by a team of specialists among which there are dentists and Oral and maxillofacial surgeons. It was concluded that It´s extremely important that the dentist be able to support, suggest and / or elucidate the diagnosis of EDSHT, as well to drive correctly the oral and maxillofacial sequels caused by the disease, because the recurrent mandibular dislocation and temporomandibular joint hypermobility, added to generalized uncommon oral radiographic findings, are strongly characteristic events of syndrome.openAccessInstabilidade articularSíndrome de Ehlers-DanlosSíndrome da Taquicardia Postural OrtostáticaManifestações oraisManejo odontológico de pacientes com síndrome de Ehlers-Danlos tipo hipermobilidade: relato de casobachelorThesis
