Basic audiological evaluation, acufenometry, Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI), and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) are procedures used in the assessment of patients with tinnitus. Purpose: To verify if there is a relationship between the sensation of tinnitus intensity, the degree of discomfort, and the impact on quality of life in patients with this symptom. Methods: A cross-sectional and descriptive study, approved by the Research Ethics Committee, no. 4.880.618. The sample consisted of 62 patients, referred after otolaryngological evaluation, subjected to anamnesis, high-frequency audiometry, research on the sensation of intensity and frequency of tinnitus, VAS, and THI. Descriptive and inferential analysis was conducted using the Pearson Correlation Coefficient. Results: The sample showed a predominance of the female gender (66.1%), with an average age of 48.3 years. The average sensation of intensity (loudness) was 14.2 dBNS for the right ear and 12.3 dBNS for the left ear. The average discomfort on the VAS was 6.92 points, and the average total score of the THI was 46.29 points. Mild degree correlations were identified between the VAS and loudness with the functional, catastrophic, and total subscales of the THI.
