Prevalência de sintomas craniocervicais e uso de Equipamento de Proteção Individual em profissionais da saúde que atuam no combate à pandemia de COVID-19. 2022. 53f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Fisioterapia), Departamento de Fisioterapia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/50349Due to the pandemic by COVID-19, there was an increase in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by health professionals, which associated with long working hours can cause discomforts such as headache. Due to the connections between craniocervical structures, other symptoms such as cervicalgia and temporomandibular symptoms could be influenced by the use of PPE. Objective: to evaluate the prevalence of craniocervical symptoms and the use of Personal Protective Equipment before and during the pandemic of COVID-19 in health professionals working to combat the pandemic in Brazil. Methods: cross-sectional study conducted with health professionals of both sexes, over 18 years of age and who worked in the fight against COVID-19, who answered an online self-administered questionnaire that involved questions about personal and professional information, lifestyle habits (physical activity, smoking and sleep quality) and depressive symptomatology, craniocervical symptoms and the use of PPE. Descriptive statistics were used to characterize the sample, and the results were presented as absolute and relative frequency for categorical data, and median and interquartile range for non-parametric data. The association between categorical variables was analyzed by Pearson's chi-square test. Results: 147 subjects answered the questionnaire, which showed an increased prevalence of headache, neck pain, and temporomandibular symptoms during the pandemic, respectively. Furthermore, the surgical mask (73.5%) was the most commonly used type of PPE before the pandemic, but during the pandemic there was a greater use of N95 masks (84.4%), headgear (90.5%), caps (89.1%), and face shield (76.9%), as well as an increase in hours per day and days per month compared to the values prior to COVID-19. There was still an association between symptoms, not getting physical exercise, poor sleep quality, depressive symptoms, and the work environment. However, no statistically significant differences were observed between symptoms and the use of PPE. Conclusion: an increased prevalence of craniocervical symptoms among healthcare professionals during the pandemic and the use of PPE was evidenced, as well as an association between symptoms, lifestyle, depressive symptoms and the work environment, which may impact the quality of life or work of these professionals.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Equipamento de Proteção IndividualDorPainCOVID-19Profissional da saúdeCervicalgiaNeck painPrevalência de sintomas craniocervicais e uso de Equipamento de Proteção Individual em profissionais da saúde que atuam no combate à pandemia de COVID-19bachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
