This study aimed to identify the final destination of pruning waste of the city and quantify the green waste produced. According to the survey, the pruning and the civil construction waste are deposited on the same place, located at the Guarapes Landfill in Natal, managed by URBANA. The landfill has a 40-hectare area with an estimated life of 4 years to receive pruning and debris from civil construction. Currently, two hired companies and the city government are responsible to perform the gatherings of pruning with a fleet of 20 vehicles capable of collecting in 2016 on average 36 tons of pruning per day, this corresponds to an approximate monthly production of 942 tons. This corresponds to approximately 2,9% of the total amount of urban solid waste in the city of Natal The current pruning production of Natal would be enough to supply with biomass dried and chopped most part of the existing briquette companies in Rio Grande do Norte, or generate approximately 13 tons per day of organic compost.openAccessAterroGestão AmbientalBiomassaSustentabilidadeBiomassEnvironmental ManagementLandfillSustainabilityDiagnóstico dos resíduos de podas do município de Natal/RNbachelorThesisCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA SANITARIA::SANEAMENTO BASICO::RESIDUOS SOLIDOS, DOMESTICOS E INDUSTRIAIS
