Every day teachers are invited to take new teaching methodologies into the classroom, to venture into untravelled paths, seeking to keep the flame of knowledge alive. In this context, history teachers are challenged to rethink the ways in which they analyze and teach history, always taking into account the constant changes of ideas present in our present day. Among the new methodologies adopted by historians is the possibility of using narratives as a source of historical research, seeking a better understanding of societies, both past and present, giving rise to a new way of seeing, understanding and making history. This work is the result of the research developed with the Graduate Program in History Teaching (UFRN), and aims to discuss the different representations of daily life contained in the narratives "Pride and Passion" (novel) and "Pride and Prejudice" (literary novel) and their use in history classes, in order to collaborate to the improvement of the teaching-learning process of the discipline, as well as in the performance of the history teacher of basic education in his daily task, that is, to lead the student to understand the relationships between events and facts of the past and the present time, based on the student's own reality. The research was made starting from the presentation of the concept of narratives and how they can be used as a source in history classes. In this chapter, we also try to work some concepts that are considered extremely important to the development of our work, which are the concepts of Representation, Everyday Life, Historical Imagination and Historical Consciousness. In the second chapter, in addition to presenting the works to be worked on in our research, we contextualize the periods in which they were produced and the historical moment they represent. Also in the second chapter, we present examples of representations of everyday life, through the transcription of some excerpts of the works. The end, in the third chapter, we present the final product developed throughout the research, which is a guide for teachers, on how to work with suggestions on how to work with narratives in history classes.Acesso AbertoJane AustenNarrativasCotidianoRepresentaçãoEnsino de HistóriaDe Jane Austen às telenovelas do século XXI: o cotidiano representado nas narrativas e seu uso no ensino de HistóriamasterThesis
