Medical records of newborns (NB) in the Neonatal ICU were analyzed to implement and evaluate three quality indicators in pediatric NT based on the work Quality Indicators in Nutritional Therapy: 10 years of IQTN in Brazil: results, challenges and proposals: Rate of Nutritional Risk Achievement (I1), Initial Food Anamnesis Achievement (I2) and Adequacy of Infused Volume over Prescribed (I3). The indicators were adjusted to the local reality. A descriptive analysis of the indicators and mean and standard deviation of the quantitative variables were performed. Data were collected from 48 newborns. The mean gestational age was 38 weeks (± 2.1), with 12 preterm. The mean weight was 2985.6 g (± 447.2), with 9 low weight newborns. The mean length was 47.4 cm (±2.7) and the mean head circumference was 34.2 cm (±1.9). I1 reached 65.9%, not reaching the target of ≥80%. I2 reached 86.8%, above the target of ≥75%. I3 resulted in 82%, with 38/47 of the newborns in ENT reaching the target of 80%. Continuous evaluation of the indicators is recommended in order to minimize possible biases caused by the low sample size.
