From that point on, we researched and saw that it was possible to construct a calandra with only scrap materials to make the costs feasible and would also be a way to reuse these materials taking into account the environmental issue. However, as we began to buy the materials we were faced with several problems in our project, we used concepts learned during the course to solve these problems in the best possible way. In choosing the materials that would constitute the calender we had a lot of caution in the selection, considering that each material was used in the best possible way, an example of this was the billet, that when going through a manufacturing process would be our axis of transmission, we chose for the shaft a steel of high hardness, since we knew that it would undergo efforts that would require hardness. In this construction we used various manufacturing and conformation processes so that at the time of assembly everything fit in the best possible way without interference. These processes of turning, welding, cutting plasma and also we use an electromagnetic drill to drill holes in the plates. This project that we built came from a course in Mechanical Engineering taught by Professor Luiz Claudio (Machine Elements II), it was proposed to bring in the classroom a project of a machine where it would have to have some requirements, three gears and at least two axes.
