Method: Cross-sectional and analytical epidemiological study carried out in the municipality of Caicó-RN. Sociodemographic variables, presence of comorbidities, physical activity practice, functional capacity (Lawton Scale) and mobility (Time Up and Go Test) were investigated. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, followed by bivariate analysis to investigate association variables and multivariate analysis (logistic regression). Results: Among the 109 elderly people evaluated, 29.4% had dependence on instrumental activities of daily living (AIVD) and 67.9% had reduced mobility. The present study found a significant association between dependence to perform AIVD and age equal to or greater than 75 years; and not practicing physical activity remained a factor of association with reduced mobility, regardless of sex, age and presence of co-morbidities. Conclusion: The findings emphasize the relevance of physical activity practice, the construction of spaces for promotion and prevention for the elderly, as well as the multi and interprofessional approach to comprehensive health care for the elderly.EnvelhecimentoAtenção primária à saúdeIncapacidade funcionalAgingPrimary health careFunctional disabilityAvaliação da capacidade funcional e mobilidade de idosos comunitários na atenção primária à saúdeEvaluation of the functional capacity and mobility of the community elderly in primary health carepostGraduateThesis
