Natal (RN), 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/59659This final course work, in article format, presents, based on a concrete reality of the author's trajectory, a ballerina, the problem of physical impediment, due to an accident on the ankle, in the search to understand dance as a body practice that involves recognizing the differences of each body, including in the use of technical accessories, specifically, in the pointe shoe. Likewise, it seeks to understand the pointe shoe as part of the qualification of the dancing body, in its condition of physical efficiency and the relevance of the accessories of technical composition for the definition of this dance, considering: 1) The recognition of the object of study in the drama of accidents with pointe shoes, experienced by ballerinas. This fact can be explored in a systematic research, to produce knowledge; 2) The identification of the problematization of the experience of “dancing” as risk and loss, which raised the elaboration of the following question: What are the impacts of risks and accidents in the use of pointe shoes by ballerinas, in classical Ballet, considering the body as a reference, from its physiological dimension? The work method used moves between the description of events (participant research) to recognize in the empirical, phenomenological immersion, taken as the basis for reflection. Thus, the work follows a format common in performing arts research and is divided according to a structure that organizes the problem and the reflections surrounding it, considering: 1) presenting Classical Ballet, in its virtuous dimension, a place of cultural tradition and studies of the body and its physiology; 2) locating the pointe shoe, an accessory and technical contribution of Ballet, a consequence of the aesthetics of virtuosity and a possible cause of numerous disorders; 3) describing and presenting the problem of ankle sprain as a material accident and its implications for the continuation of a ballerina's career; 4) discussing the themes presented and drawing some conclusions from them.CC0 1.0 Universalhttp://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/BalletSapatilha de PontaFisiologiaRiscobachelorThesisCNPQ::LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTES
