Despite extending life expectancy, its undesirable side effects can impact the patient in various ways, including the realm of mental health. This study aimed to review the literature on nursing care for the mental health of hemodialysis patients. An integrative literature review was conducted using the PRISMA flowchart on the LILACS, BDENF, Web Of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases between January and October 2023, with the descriptors "Nursing Care," "Renal Dialysis," and "Mental Health." Ten articles were selected for the review. The research highlights depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, isolation, frustration, and fear as the main repercussions. Nursing actions for the mental health of patients include active listening, building a relationship with the patient, and developing personalized approaches for each individual. In line with the results, the study underscores the crucial role of nurse care in various actions aimed at enhancing and promoting the mental well-being of renal patients.Cuidados de enfermagemDiálise renalSaúde mentalbachelorThesis
