Individuals undergoing hospitalization become susceptible to immobility and its impacts on health, affecting different body systems and causing complications. Objective: The objective of the study was to analyze the mobility and functionality of individuals undergoing hospitalization in the city of Santa Cruz - RN. Methodology: This was an observational, cross-sectional and descriptive study, carried out at Hospital Municipal Aluízio Bezerra. The sample was for convenience, composed of individuals hospitalized in the ward, from April 15 to November 23, 2022. Information was collected on identification, lifestyle habits, presence of comorbidities, anthropometry, in addition to being evaluated: peripheral muscle strength, functional capacity and mobility, as well as the time and cause of hospitalization. Results: A total of 20 individuals with a mean age of 55.9 years (±18.1) were evaluated, with 60% of the sample consisting of men. The variables BMI, length of stay, weight and height showed the following averages, respectively: 27.3 kg/m2 (±6.3); 5.6 days (±4.7); 75.4 kg (±20.9) and 1.66 m (±0.09). It was observed that muscle strength and mobility did not present a deficit, but functional capacity was below expectations. There was no correlation between the three variables and length of stay.
