Despite its importance, the literature on MRPs in hospitalized high-risk pregnant women remains limited. This study aims to characterize MRPs in high-risk pregnant women with gestational hypertension (GH) and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in terms of frequency and type. The research was an observational, longitudinal, and prospective cohort study that included 149 hospitalized pregnant women using at least one medication, recruited between February 2020 and July 2022. To identify MRPs, hospitalized patients were evaluated daily throughout their hospital stay, with active medical record reviews using the SOAP method. The characterization of suspected or manifested MRPs during hospitalization was classified according to the Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE V9.00). Statistical data analysis was performed using Stata software, version 15. The findings indicate an MRP prevalence of 72.5%, with a total of 108 occurrences identified. The most frequent MRPs were related to therapeutic ineffectiveness (82.6%) and adverse events (47.7%). The study concluded that MRPs are common in pregnant women with GH and GDM, with therapeutic ineffectiveness and adverse events being the predominant issuesAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Terapia medicamentosaGravidez de alto riscoDiabetes gestacionalHipertensão gestacionalEventos adversosFarmacocinéticaDrug therapyHigh-risk pregnancyGestational hypertensionAdverse eventsPharmacokineticsPerfil de problemas relacionados a medicamentos em gestantes de alto risco hospitalizadasProfile of medication-related problems in hospitalized high-risk pregnant womenbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::FARMACIA
