A experiência social da hormonização entre travestis e mulheres trans: reflexões a partir do SUS no Seridó Potiguar. 2024. 66 f. Trabalho de conclusão de curso (Graduação em Enfermagem) – Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde do Trairi, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Santa Cruz, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/60890This research investigates the hormonization process of transgender women and travestis in the city of Currais Novos, located in the Seridó region of Rio Grande do Norte, within the context of Primary Health Care. The main objective was to analyze and describe how this process occurs, considering nursing practices and the challenges faced by these women in seeking adequate health care. The methodological approach adopted was predominantly qualitative, using ethnography as the primary data collection technique, complemented by participant observation. This approach allowed for an in-depth exploration of the interlocutors' experiences, following their hormonization journeys and interactions with health services. The snowball sampling technique was used to identify and recruit additional participants, ensuring a diverse and representative sample. Three open-ended interviews were conducted at the homes of the interlocutors, aiming to build detailed narratives about their lives and experiences with hormonization, as well as the emotions surrounding them. The research results revealed that the interlocutors faced significant barriers in accessing health services, such as bureaucratic difficulties and a lack of qualified professionals to handle trans health issues. The study highlighted the importance of respecting social names and gender identity, which emerged as a positive aspect in care practices. Moreover, it was observed that hormonization is a central element in the lives of transgender women and travestis, influencing their well-being and social interactions. Finally, this study integrates knowledge from nursing, anthropology, and social sciences, aiming to improve health practices for transgender women and travestis, promoting more equitable and humanized care in the region.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/HormonizaçãoMulheres transexuaisAtenção Primária à SaúdeEtnografiaSaúde LGBTQIA+A experiência social da hormonização entre travestis e mulheres trans: reflexões a partir do sus no seridó potiguarThe social experience of hormonization between travestis and trans women: reflections from the sus in seridó potiguarbachelorThesis
