The aging process naturally brings changes in health and a progressive decrease in the functioning of the body, where several factors can influence this process, such as lifestyle, health care, genetic factors, among others. Being an important element for maintaining health, and jointly the quality of life and autonomy of the elderly person, continuous medical monitoring of some illnesses and access to treatments aimed at rehabilitation. In view of this demand, this study is based on the understanding of population aging and the demands of elderly people in contemporary times and the need for access to specialized healthcare and rehabilitation activities, applying it to the context of architectural design, also seeking to understand the guidelines and characteristics of a project in the outpatient area and Specialized Rehabilitation Centers (CER) with a focus on physical-motor and neuro-cognitive treatments and the concepts of Humanization and Ambience within the National Humanization Policy and National Health Policy for the Elderly. Therefore, studies were carried out on the areas of interest: the elderly, their health needs, the activities and functioning of a CER were also defined.
