The business model known as cooperativism has helped to overcome the difficulties en-countered, since it allows its users to help in several areas that can help to improve the performance of producers in the market. Therefore, the objective of the present work was to analyze how cooperativism contributes to the economic development of small rural producers in the city of São João do Sabugi/RN. The research is charac-terized as qualitative and descriptive. A questionnaire prepared by the author herself, between November and December 2022, was applied (online, via whatsapp), which led to the conclusions of this work.
