OBJECTIVE: The present study aimed to understand how the graduate tutors at the Pediatric Hospital Maria Alice Fernandes understand their role in the formation of critical and reflective health professionals. METHODOLOGY: Case study, with a qualitative approach, with an intentional, non-probabilistic choice, carried out with undergraduate preceptors from multiple areas at the Pediatric Hospital Maria Alice Fernandes. The sample consisted of 08 undergraduate preceptors invited to the discussion in 1 (one) focus group (FG) in October 2019 and 3 undergraduate preceptors interviewed individually, in December 2019, having as a thematic axis the “understanding of undergraduate preceptors as to their role in the training of critical and reflective health professionals”. The FG discussion and individuals interviews were guided through a semi-structured script, previously prepared with 5 opens questions, with the researcher as a mediator. The contents raised were analyzed using the Bardin technique. RESULTS: As a result, three categories were obtained (training / “thinking” / preceptorship challenges) that generated a product in the form of a report, disclosed to the Institution's Management together with the NEP (Permanent Education Nucleus), in which it provided subsidies capable of deepening the understanding of the aspects related to this research, as well as discussing, for medium-term execution, an internal training for the Institution's undergraduate preceptors.Acesso AbertoPreceptoriaCiências da saúde - ensinoHabilidades de pensamentoCurrículoO papel dos preceptores de graduação na formação de profissionais de saúde críticos e reflexivosmasterThesis
