Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Bacharelado Engenharia Mecânica) - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, [S. l.], 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/42959Mechanical characterization of tribosystems are essential tests to evaluate the performance of material surfaces, aiming to validate the surface properties of a material, the evolution and development of materials that support the required working conditions. In this context, a method used for laboratory analysis is the wear test with a pin-on-disk tribometer - equipment capable of measuring physical quantities such as normal force, frictional force, temperature, distance and sliding speed. Considering the importance of studies related to surface engineering, this work presents the design of a tribometer as a tool for the development of research related to friction, wear, lubrication and systems life. Thus, a small equipment was designed, in order to allow rapid and low cost tests. The development of the work took place according to the steps: mechanical design supported by 3D modeling software - Solidworks, mechanical sizing and electronic design with the aid of an Arduino board. The results obtained in the work were the solutions implemented in the project: addition of rolling bearings, metallic base and cantilever beam. The counterweight required to reach the mechanical equilibrium state is 2.024P. At the end of the project it was concluded that the designed tribometer is functional and capable of testing small samples, has a maximum allowable test load of 20 N, maximum angular speed of 3535 RPM and measurement resolution of 0.0000584576 N.tribômetrotribometerpino sobre discopin-on-discengenharia de superfíciesurface engineeringcaracterização mecânicamechanical characterizationProjeto mecânico de tribômetro do tipo pino sobre discoMechanical design of a pin-on-disc tribometerbachelorThesis
