The purpose is to identify, from predefined quality parameters, how the content selection, audience participation e the didactical way of presenting the themes can interfere in the quality of the tv news. In addition, to ponder on the journalistic practice and the role of the public communication to the construction of a more equal society. For this purpose, it resorted to concepts such as Quality Television (MULGAN, 1990; MACHADO, 2000, 2011; BORGES, 2008, 2014), Quality Journalism (COUTINHO, 2013; GOMES; 2006) and Public Communication (BOLAÑO, 2010). The methodology used was the Content Analysis (BARDIN, 1977), as a form to comprehend the object and identify its weaknesses and strengths. Alongside with that, that is a nonparticipant observation, bibliography research and interview.
