Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Educação Física) - Departamento de Educação Física, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/62328Depression, anxiety, and stress are strongly linked to physiological changes in the hypotalimc-pituitary-adrenal axis and social factors such as gender and education. As a result, older adults experience a higher prevalence of these symptoms. Health issues previously attributed to aging are now understood to be influenced by habits and lifestyle. In this context, sedentary behavior is a risk factor for depression, anxiety, and stress, while sedentary individuals exhibit a higher prevalence of these symptoms. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between sedentary behavior time and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress. To achieve this, depression, anxiety, and stress scores were measured using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21), and sedentary behavior time was measured using the Actigraph GT3X accelerometer. The findings revealed that older adults spent over 10 hours daily in sedentary behavior (623.94 ± 86.2). Stress and Depression scores were categorized as "normal," while Anxiety scores were classified as "mild" for the entire sample. It was concluded that there was no significant correlation between sedentary behavior time and depression, anxiety and stress symptoms, however, there may be factors not considered in this study which are also related to the variablesSaúde de idososSaúde mentalComportamento sedentárioCorrelação entre tempo de comportamento sedentário e sintomas de depressão, ansiedade e estresse em idososCorrelation between sedentary behavior time and depression, anxiety and stress symptoms in eldersbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::EDUCACAO FISICA
