To ensure a healthy diet in this sector, the School Feeding Council (CAE) advises and supervises the actions of the municipal government in implementing the program, ensuring the quality of food. This study aimed to understanding the Council on the presence of Genetically modified foods in school meals compared to their performance in municipal schools in the city of Cuité-PB. They interviewed five members of CAE, through questions guides. The interviews were recorded and fully transcribed. The counselors understand how their role to tax the quality of school meals, but had doubts and ignorance about the use of genetically modified organisms in school meals. They reported the lack of debate on the issue, expressing individual ideas that have not been discussed with the group, such as the strengthening of family farming in the city.
