Desenvolvimento e caracterização físico-química de nanosistemas para potencial atividade anti-Trypanosoma cruzi. 2022. 38f. In the search for new alternatives for treatment, sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (DTC) and phytol (FTL) have demonstrated anti-trypanosoma activity, and with that, the literature has been presenting new delivery systems for the incorporation of these compounds, such as polymeric nanoparticles, a very promising tool due to increased selectivity to parasites and protection to the drug incorporated into the system. The present work aims to obtain polylactic acid (PLA) based nanoparticles monoloaded with DTC and FTL through the solvent evaporation nanoprecipitation technique to be evaluated due to their potential anti-trypanoma cruzi activity. The nanoparticles were characterized according to their hydrodynamic diameter, polydispersity index (PDI), zeta potential (PZ), hydrogenion potential (pH), encapsulation efficiency (EE%) and hemolysis. The final formulations had an average size below 300 nm (PDI<0.3), PZ around -15 mV and EE% above 80% for both formulations. The pH values varied in the different systems, being slightly acidic for NPs without drugs and containing FTL, and basic for NPs containing DTC. The hemolytic activity showed a concentration-dependent profile in NP FTL, while in NP BR and NP DTC no hemolysis of erythrocytes was identified. The nanosystems have the potential to be analyzed against Trypanosoma cruzi since the chemical compounds have documented anti-trypanosoma activity, which can be amplified with the use of nanoparticlesAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Doença de ChagasDietilditiocarbamato de sódioFitolNanopartículas poliméricasDesenvolvimento e caracterização físico-química de nanosistemas para potencial atividade anti-Trypanosoma cruziDevelopment and physicochemical characterization of nanosystems for potential anti-Trypanosoma cruzi activitybachelorThesis
