For this, we used the bibliographic research, document analysis and statistics related to the microdados of the higher education census provided by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP), to the Final Report of the V Socioeconomic and Cultural Profile Research of the Undergraduates from Federal Institutions of Higher Education made possible by the National Forum of the Dean of Student Affairs (FONAPRACE) and the reports that have the activities that collaborate with the permanence of students, prepared by UFRN, through the Coordination of Student Health Care (CASE). It was found that the many adversities that students face in their academic trajectories require actions that help them in these demands with programs and projects that discuss and guide possible resolutions of these problems. The activities developed by CASE are extremely important for the UFRN student body. However, it is inferred that there were few attendances in the years analyzed compared to the large group of university students.
