Cap. 4.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/42856The concept of Internet of Things is seen as the future of the Internet, changing from the typical vision of communication to a broader paradigm, where smart devices will talk to each other, independent of human intervention. In this new paradigm not only things are connected to the Internet, it is an intelligent system that will be able to offer, at its summit, features that will provide us a better quality of life. Although, there are challenges for the IoT such as, as fragmentation and interoperability. The Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), base technology for this new paradigm, are usually composed by low processing power and storage devices. This causes the wireless sensor network to be isolated from the Internet. With the growth of the use of Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) in low-power wireless personal area networks, comes an alternative interoperability between WSN and the Internet. However, the use of this alternative is invisible to an external network and requires a suitable protocol translation for communication between the two networks. In this work, show the development of an open platform, with the use of free tools and technologies that enables direct communication between sensornetworks and Internet devices.openAccessInternet das CoisasRedes de Sensores sem FioProtocoloDesenvolvimento de uma plataforma de interconexão de código aberto para a Internet das CoisasbachelorThesis
