Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Comunicação Social - Jornalismo), Departamento de Comunicação Social, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/64843This Final Course Work has as its central theme the intersection between football and politics in Brazil, taking into account the media, with a focus on the context of the covid-19 pandemic. Motivated by a personal passion for the sport and an interest in its institutional relations, the study proposes a content analysis of the podcast Muito Mais Do Que Futebol, produced by Central 3, during the first wave of the pandemic (March to June 2020). The research selected four specific episodes — March 19, April 16, May 14, and June 11 — to investigate how the federal government, then led by Jair Bolsonaro, dealt with the health crisis in partnership with national football leaders. The analysis will be carried out using the content analysis methodology, according to Bardin (2011), with a qualitative and inferential approach, seeking to understand how concepts such as racism, discrimination, and scientific denial were addressed by journalists Mauro Cézar Pereira, Lúcio de Castro, and Leandro Iamin. The research also aims to investigate how football was inserted into the political and social debate, even in a scenario of public calamity, and how commentators interpreted this relationship between sport, power and pandemic. The proposal is part of a field that is still little explored academically and seeks to contribute to reflections on the sociopolitical role of football in contemporary Brazil.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/PodcastMuito Mais Do Que FutebolPolíticaMuch More Than FootballPoliticsAnálise do discurso do podcast "Muito mais do que futebol"bachelorThesis
