In addition to providing necessary nutrients, it promotes a deep emotional bond between mother and child, creating a solid foundation for the child's cognitive, emotional and social development. Breastfeeding also offers protection against illness, helps develop a baby's immune system, and can reduce the risk of allergies and chronic illnesses. Objective: To identify the strategies used to treat pain related to breastfeeding. Method: This is an integrative review carried out from November 2023 to January 2024, which included articles indexed in the following databases: PubMed, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences and the Scientific Electronic Library Online. Results: 11 articles were found that met the eligibility criteria. The studies adopted a cross-sectional observational approach, experimental and intervention studies in which they were conducted in several countries, with publications in journals. By analyzing these articles, it was possible to identify the different approaches adopted to treat problems related to breastfeeding, such as the use of Lanolin HPA, Nystatin, Fluconazole, medicinal herbs such as Gualou Xiaoyong decoction, probiotics, surgical drainage, debridement, laser therapy, breast massage. Conclusion: This review highlighted the challenges faced by breastfeeding women throughout their breastfeeding journey, highlighting the analysis of the treatment of breast milk-related pain, which revealed a variety of effective strategies and interventions.
