The study is exploratory in nature with a quantitative analysis approach, using data available on the official websites of the Ministry of Economy (Novo Caged and RAIS), Sebrae and the city halls of the municipalities that make up the Costa Branca Polo. The survey results make it possible to verify that during 2020, of the analyzed municipalities, Mossoró and Assú were the most impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, registering the highest number of layoffs in the sector, in absolute and relative terms. Restaurants and the like were the most affected sector, disfavoring the tourism job market.
