It was developed in three phases. The research in question, aimed at the development of an experimental technological tool by means of a randomized controlled clinical trial, was developed in three phases. There was a sample of 75 pregnant women, 36 in the intervention group and 39 in the control group, registered in these units; and 21 specialists (14 nurses obstetrics and seven of the area of Information Technology and Communication). The research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, under protocol CAAE nº: 76787917.0.0000.5537, Opinion no. 2.356.769 and registered in the Platform of Brazilian Registries of Clinical Trials, under nº of Universal Identification Trial: RBR-74SNST, U1111-1219-7069. In the validation, two phases of the Delphi technique were used, so that the validators validated the contents of the application with Content Validity Index (IVC) of 0.94, Interrater Concordance Index (IRA) of 0.90 and Mann- Whitney of 0.012. The validity of usability and functionality presented Content Validity Index of 0.89, Inter-Reliance Concordance Index of 0.87 and Mann-Whitney test of 0.029. The clinical trial was performed from January to March 2018, divided into two groups: intervention group (n=36), who attended prenatal consultations, participated in the monthly meetings for pregnant women associated to the use of the application produced; and control group, who participated in the prenatal consultations and the monthly meetings for pregnant women. The results showed that the highest percentage of participants were in the age group of 20 to 30 years, were married, primigest, had incomplete elementary school, did not exercise paid activity, had family income of up to 01 minimum wage and already manipulated some type of app. During the follow-up of the participants, it was verified that the intervention group had a frequency of consultations greater than nine in prenatal care, being statistically significant (p <0.05), which demonstrates the effectiveness of the application as a complementary tool in follow-up of the pregnant woman. From the study, the hypothesis was confirmed that the pregnant women who used the "Healthy Gestation" application, associated to the consultations and monthly meetings, showed a greater adhesion to prenatal care.Acesso AbertoSaúde da mulherCuidado pré-natalTecnologiaGravidezEnfermagemAplicativo para dispositivo móvel como ferramenta de adesão de gestantes ao pré-natalApplication for mobile device as a tool for adherence of pregnant women to prenatal caredoctoralThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEM
