Ensaios de gente sobre um design vivo. 2024.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Design) – Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/62229“People's essays about living design” is a work that proposes ontological excursions into the identity complex of design, narrating the investigations from the perspectives of intimacy and the thoughts of those who do the research, proposing epistemological breaks and instilling poetic narratives that are fundamental to building another framework for thinking about academic production. The work discusses design's associations with modernity and its appendage in coloniality, using Dussel's (2005) work to define what modernity is and how it serves colonial discourse. The research investigates how pluriversality (Escobar, 2018) and intimacies (Gomes, 2022) can affect what design can become in contact with another, non-Eurocentric world, also calling for collectivity, in the selection of design students and teachers, for a broader perspective in the methodological application of interviews and oral history (Delgado, 2009), as well as recognizing autobiographical discourse as a fundamental part of building science (Neves, 2010). The aim of the work is to instill decolonial thinking in the construction of design and to propose the use of other creative areas to discuss and construct design. Finally, a visual manifesto is produced that condenses the discussions brought up and experiments, poetically and visually, with ways of talking about identity, design and intimacy.
