A arquitetura do mistério: a representação do espaço nos contos fantásticos de Lygia Fagundes Telles. Orientador: João Batista de Morais Neto. 2025. 56 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Letras - Língua Portuguesa e Literaturas) - Departamento de Letras, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/64891This end-of-course work involves the study of space in the composition and maintenance of mystery in the short stories “A caçada” and “A mão no ombro”, present, respectively, in the collections Antes do baile verde (2009) and Seminário dos Ratos (2009), written by the illustrious Brazilian writer, Lygia Fagundes Telles. In this way, the research seeks to understand space as a decisive narrative element in the structural and thematic composition of the fantastic tale, as well as to verify the way in which the spatial description in Telles' two tales contributes to the intensification of the mysterious atmosphere during the narration of the story. Therefore, the theories of Gotlib (2006), Massaud Moisés (2006) and Cortázar (2013) will be used as a basis for studies on the short story, since they provide a contextualization of the origins of the short story. For a better understanding of space in prose, we used Borges Filho (2008), Bachelard (2008), Brandão (2013) and Osman Lins (1976), who present concepts of topoanalysis and how they are transmuted within a literary text. In addition, as theoretical support for the fantastic in literature and Telles' writing, we discuss, respectively, Todorov's exemplar (2008) and Lucas' notes (1990), as well as those of Régis (2007), in addition to the critical fortune present in Telles' own collections. The methodology used consists of a descriptive analysis of the spaces in the aforementioned works, in order to demonstrate the formation of the atmosphere of mystery and its nuances in the behavior of the characters. Therefore, through the analysis carried out with the support of theoretical texts, we conclude that the use of space in the Brazilian writer's fantastic narratives is fundamental to the construction of the mystery, as well as being an indispensable mechanism for intensifying the ambiguity surrounding the supernatural particle, thus contributing to the reader's state of tension in relation to the story.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/contoespaçofantásticomistérioLygia Fagundes TellesA arquitetura do mistério: a representação do espaço nos contos fantásticos de Lygia Fagundes TellesbachelorThesis
