Therefore, techniques used in cases of oral dysfunction in the baby should be considered a favorable resource for the management of breastfeeding. Thus, the study aimed to develop a guide to establish and systematize the procedures for using the finger-feeding technique (finger-probe) in babies with oral dysfunction without neurological impairment, healthy and at term. It is characterized as a methodological, qualitative, exploratory study of a descriptive character. For the preparation of the guide, a bibliographic survey of articles indexed in the Public Medline databases (PubMed), in the Virtual Library Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and main literature referring to the theme of breastfeeding about the technique of oral stimulation in newborns was carried out. born, as well as the aspects that contribute to the use of the resource in healthy and full-term babies. The production of this material was divided into four phases. In the first stage, the outline of the theme, study; and bibliographic survey. In the second stage, a workshop was developed on the alternative method of complementing term and healthy newborns by using the finger-probe technique, given to professional nurses, nursing technicians and multidisciplinary residents in Maternal and Child Health EMCM / UFRN in the sector motherhood. The third stage consisted of producing a guide on the use of the finger-feeding technique in term and healthy newborns with atypical oral disorders and breastfeeding procedures. The fourth stage ended with the production of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), a tool built to guide the execution of the process from the prescription, determination of the professional responsible for the execution, necessary materials until the assembly and use of the probe. The use of the Guide will help to guide professional conduct in making informed decisions and with scientific evidence on breastfeeding. Likewise, the material also envisions articulation with the management of the institution for which the proposal was produced and, outline a strategy for its implementation in the institution.
