O processo criativo e o transtorno depressivo em Van Gogh. 2017. 100 f. Monografia (Licenciatura em Artes Visuais) - Departamento de Artes. Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2017.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/38194This work discusses, through image reading, the influences of Depressive Disorder on Vincent van Gogh’s creative process, with a focus on the following works: “Still Life – Vase with fourteen sunflowers” (1889), “Starry Night” (1889) and a selfportrait (1889). In order to do this, I discuss both Gestalt's approach, which is focused on psychological and artistic aspects, and the DSM-5 definition of Depressive Disorder. The analysis is also based on the painter’s written expression in letters to his brother Théo. Specific visual elements, such as colors and formats, gained prominence during analysis and were linked to fundamental elements in Gestalt's theory and in Jungian psychoanalysis. This research aims to help in dealing with the issue of Depressive Disorder, through an active participation in the visual arts. It will be possible to analyze the influence of depression in visual artistic expression and use image reading as a referential method in therapeutical processes and other alternative treatments.openAccessAn error occurred getting the license - uri.An error occurred getting the license - uri.Transtorno depressivoDepressãoVincent van GoghGogh, Vincent van, 1853-1890Leitura de imagemArteO processo criativo e o transtorno depressivo em Van GoghbachelorThesis
