Objective: To classify the risk of developing cardiovascular and metabolic diseases in motorcycle taxi drivers in the city of Santa Cruz. Methods: This is a quantitative, observational, descriptive and analytical study. The inclusion criteria were to accept to participate in the research voluntarily, sign the informed consent form and be 18 years of age or older, working as a motorcycle taxi driver for at least 1 year; giving up participating during the research was the exclusion criterion. For statistical analysis, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and the Pearson and Spearman correlation tests were used. Results: the sample consisted of 70 volunteers, 100% male, with a mean age of 39.4 (±11.2) years. Cardiovascular risk was observed in 88.6% of the sample, while 52.9% had an increased risk of developing DM2. A statistically significant correlation was observed between RCV and DM2 risk and age, BMI and MAP, as well as between RCV and daily working hours. Final considerations: A high risk of developing cardiovascular and metabolic diseases (type 2 diabetes and obesity) was identified in motorcycle taxi drivers, implemented by unhealthy lifestyle habits and precarious working conditions, with long working hours, lack of vacations and low pay.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Risco CardiovascularDiabetes MellitusObesidadebachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
