Anterior vaginal wall prolapse, known as cystocele, is caused by the descent of the bladder into the vaginal canal and is also the most prevalent type. POP is frequently associated with overactive bladder syndrome (OAB), which includes urinary urgency symptoms associated with increased frequency and nocturia, with or without incontinence. Treatment can be surgical or conservative, with surgery being an important tool for POP correction. However, there is a lack of data in the literature on the improvement of urinary symptoms, including OAB, after surgery. Objective: To evaluate urinary urgency complaints in women who underwent cystocele correction surgery (cystopexy) with sling placement before and six months after the procedure. Methods: This study is part of a prospective cohort conducted with 49 women aged 18 to 65 years, treated at the gynecology wards of the Maternidade Escola Januário Cicco (MEJC). During the preoperative evaluation, performed on average four weeks before surgery, a general assessment form, the Rome III Criteria, and the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder (ICIQ-OAB) were applied. Six months after surgery, the ICIQ-OAB was administered again. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test to identify differences between assessments. Results: The mean age of the sample was 54.91 ± 1.347 years, and the mean BMI was 25.77 ± 1.57 kg/m². Most participants (47.7%) were married, and 79.5% had a sedentary lifestyle. Six months after surgery, there was a significant reduction in ICIQ-OAB scores (p < 0.01), with the median decreasing from 3 (1–5) to 0 (0–0), reflecting an improvement in urinary urgency symptoms. Conclusion: Cystopexy surgery with sling placement showed a reduction in urinary urgency complaints in women with anterior wall prolapse. The importance of identifying and managing risk factors in the preoperative period is emphasized to improve outcomes and prevent recurrence. Future studies with larger samples and long-term follow-up are necessary to validate these findingsProlapso de Órgão PélvicoCistoceleBexiga Urinária HiperativaPelvic Organ ProlapseOveractive Bladder.CystoceleAvaliação da queixa de urgência urinária em mulheres antes e após cirurgia de correção de prolapso de bexigaEvaluation of urinary urgency complaints in women before and after bladder prolapse repair surgerybachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::FISIOTERAPIA E TERAPIA OCUPACIONAL
