Available on the market only in the form of creams, ointments and lotions, it ends up limiting the efficiency of the therapy as it has a reduced time spent at the application site. Due to its physicochemical characteristics, such as low solubility, triamcinolone acetone presents a challenge for the development of new formulations. Given this, the use of nanotechnology can be an ally to overcome these challenges. The objective of this work was to develop a potential active pharmaceutical ingredient from polymeric nanoparticles containing triamcinolone. The nanoparticles were obtained using the nanoprecipitation method. The systems were optimized regarding their physicochemical characteristics. Among the parameters evaluated, there are diameter, polydispersity index (PdI), zeta potential (PZ), pH, in vitro cytotoxicity and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The polymeric nanoparticles obtained showed an encapsulation efficiency of 99%, size less than 55 nm, PdI below 0.250, PZ + 26mV and physical stability of three weeks.
