Fibras de pla revestidas com pontos quânticos de ZNO (PQZNO) via layer-by-layer para potencial aplicação self-cleaning. 2020. 87f. Dissertação (Mestrado em Engenharia Têxtil) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2020.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/31853With the 4th industrial revolution approaching, using nanotechnology tools as a means to obtain materials with greater functionality and performance has shown that nanoscience is fundamental in solving problems. This was evident when several studies used ZnO nanoparticles as a catalyst in photocatalytic processes for wastewater treatment of polluting residues, however, it is disposal in suspension in the effluent, linked to the size and shape, raises the cost of application, and brings with it a risk to living beings and the environment. An alternative focus on coating technique of the nanostructures on textile substrates where it allows applicability in a safer way, without losing efficiency and property. Based on this assumption, this work developed a nanocoating with Zinc Oxide Quantum Dots (ZnOQD) has been deposited on Polylactic Acid (PLA) knitted fabric by Layer-by-Layer (LBL), which was then subjected to the process of photocatalysis in water contaminated with Rhodamine B dye. Thus, the results obtained by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM) analyzes reveal that the synthesis of a controllable process of the ZnOQD with a polycrystalline structure of Wurtzite type and particle size on average 8 nm. Furthemore, XRD, X-ray Photoelectric Spectroscopy (XPS) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (MEV-FEG) micrographs demonstrate the deposition of ZnOQD on the surface of the PLA fibers. The photocatalytic activity of the nanocomposite in the Rhodamine B degraded 85% of the dye with material reuse capacity of 7 cycles.
