This is a retrospective cohort study, whose unit of analysis was women with and without a history of breast cancer. Data collection for both groups was carried out via telephone contact. The total sample consisted of 235 women, 142 for the exposed group and 93 for the unexposed group. For the analysis of the quality of life outcome, this variable was measured using the Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36). The dependent variable quality of life was categorized into two categories: Low Quality of Life and High Quality of Life. In the statistical analysis of the data, the software (SPSS) version 20.0 was used. Significant differences were found for the functional capacity, general health and physical aspects domains (p<0.05). No significant differences were found for the pain, vitality, social aspects, emotional aspects and mental health domains.
