However, supplying energy to consumers requires the implementation of projects that can impact the environment. In this context, environmental assessment plays a crucial role, seeking to reconcile economic and social development with environmental preservation. This document aims to explain the entire environmental licensing process for an electrical substation implemented in Goianinha/RN, listing all stages of the license, needs and requests from regulatory agencies, and environmental impact studies. In addition to the implementation phase, the operation of the substation was also considered.
