It is recognized that the language and mannerisms of the Big Band are perceived differently in performance practice. Therefore, the study will address the historical background of the creation of this type of group, as well as technical aspects of how to write for a specific section, in this case, the trombone section. This work investigated the technical and musical development in the creation of arrangements, with an emphasis on the trombone within the universe of Banda Pequi, a Brazilian music orchestra.
