Análise de flexo-torção em hastes de paredes delgadas e seção aberta pelo método dos elementos finitos. 2021. 80f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Engenharia Civil) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/34005This research paper deals with the numerical analysis of thin-walled beams of open cross section, such as ‘I’, ‘U’ and ‘Z’ sections, submitted to bending and torsion. The numerical method used was the Finite Element Method (FEM), and the formulations were developed through the application of the Principle of Virtual Works (PVW). To characterize the finite element, Vlasov's theory was used, which considers the non-uniform warping of the cross section and the appearance of normal stresses due to restrictions on the supports or to more general loading applications. The analytical expressions of this theory are presented for further validation of the numerical results. The processing of numerical analysis took place through the development of a computational code in Fortran language. The results obtained by the code converged with the analytical results, presenting errors of less than 1%. Thus, the code with the numerical formulation was validated with good accuracy.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/MEFVlasovFlexo-torçãoParedes delgadasEmpenamentoWarpingFEMBending and TorsionThin wallsAnálise de flexo-torção em hastes de paredes delgadas e seção aberta pelo método dos elementos finitosBending and torsion analysis of thin-walled beams of open cross section by the Finite Element MethodbachelorThesis
