Composição nutricional, fitoquímica, citotoxicidade e atividades biológicas da sapucaia (Lecythis pisonis Cambess): uma revisão da literatura. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Farmácia) - Departamento de Farmácia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/61292Lecythis pisonis, known as sapucaia, is a species widely distributed in Brazil, but still little explored. Given this context, the objective of this study was to conduct a literature review on the nutritional composition, phytochemistry, cytotoxicity and biological activities of sapucaia. The search was performed in the Scopus, Web of Science and Scielo databases, selecting 21 articles. The studies found indicate that sapucaia seeds stand out as a functional food due to their richness in essential amino acids, unsaturated fatty acids (omega 3, 6 and 9), proteins, minerals, dietary fiber and vitamin E. The plant also presents bioactive compounds, such as triterpenes, steroids, flavonoids and phenolic acids, responsible for antipruritic, antioxidant, antinociceptive, anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic activities against tumor cells. These attributes show the great potential of sapucaia in the development of pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food products, valuing Brazilian biodiversity in a sustainable way.Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/3.0/br/SapucaiaLecythis pisonisCompostos bioativosComposição nutricional, fitoquímica, citotoxicidade e atividades biológicas da sapucaia (Lecythis pisonis Cambess): uma revisão da literaturaNutritional composition, phytochemistry, cytotoxicity and biological activities of sapucaia (Lecythis pisonis Cambess): a literature reviewbachelorThesis
