From an adaptation of the cathode cage called cathode cylinders, the samples were treated in cathodic and floating potential with temperatures of 300 °C, 350 °C and 400 °C, all with an atmosphere rich in argon, to study their deposition in the two configurations of potential. After the treatments, the samples were submitted to chemical analyzes by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy, in addition to the calotest tribological test. It was possible to quantify the coating thickness using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In general, the results indicated success in the deposition of molybdenum disulfide in all samples treated at floating potential, and in the formation of sulfide compounds at cathode potential. It was also possible to qualify the film by observing the vibration bands after deconvolution of Raman spectroscopy, since it indicated the presence of peaks referring to MoS2 and its compounds.
