Construção e validação do diagnóstico de enfermagem risco de volume de líquidos excessivo a partir de uma teoria de médio alcance. 2018. 212f. Tese (Doutorado em Enfermagem na Atenção à Saúde) - Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2018.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/jspui/handle/123456789/26225The nursing diagnosis of excessive fluid volume is frequently present in patients undergoing hemodialysis. This problem has negative repercussions on the health of these individuals, as it generates an increase in hospitalization rates, morbidity and mortality. Thus, preventing this problem is an important action of the nurse. However, the diagnosis Risk of excessive fluid volume was never created in the NANDA International taxonomy. Therefore, this study aimed to propose the nursing diagnosis Risk of excessive fluid volume in patients undergoing hemodialysis from a middle range theory. It is a methodological research, which was developed in three stages: theoretical-causal validation, content validation and clinical-causal validation. In the first stage, the nursing diagnosis Risk of excessive fluid volume was developed from the construction of a middle-range theory and operationalized through an integrative literature review. In the second stage, 48 judges assessed the diagnostic adequacy. In the third stage, the diagnosis was clinically validated, based on a case-control study, with 392 patients on hemodialysis. The project was approved by the Ethics Committee, under opinion nº 1.257.908 and Certificate of Presentation for Ethical Consideration nº 49324015.0.0000.5537. In the first step eight essential attributes of the excessive liquid volume risk were identified, 31 clinical backgrounds, 12 propositions, 31 causal relations and 1 pictogram. In the second stage, the judges considered the diagnostic proposal adequate, with 23 risk factors adequates. In the third stage, the risk factors called Inadequate fluid removal during hemodialysis, Excessive fluid intake, Excessive sodium intake, Poor schooling, Poor knowledge and Age (≤ 60 years) were able to increase the chances for the development of excessive fluid volume in patients undergoing hemodialysis. It is concluded that the construction of the nursing diagnosis Risk of excessive fluid volume, based on a mediumrange theory, is verifiable in clinical practice in patients undergoing hemodialysis.
