In the public sector, which has very functional institutions, with many departments apart from each other, the process management problems may be too apparent; in that way, the Lean Office is presented as an option to be implemented in organizations with those characteristics and to obtain better performance results. Therefore, the aim of this article is to analyze the use of the lean thinking in order to propose improvement strategies to an administrative process in a public company. Through a exploratory case study research, it was found some value stream problems in a project compliance process and presented 4 improvement proposals shared into 14 activities, which passed through a applicability analysis by one of the company’s coordinator, considering most of it applicable in short terms.
